Full Body Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic in simple terms means "effective use of the hands". Our treatment methods include removing the subluxation complex and other fixations found at all the joints of the musculoskeletal system. We also focus and encourage active patient lifestyle, by addressing joint fixations in the extremities as well as in the spine.

We utilize a wide range of treatments when delivering this type of health care. This is a mixture of techniques, both at the spine and the extremities. We have learned that the diversified approach allows us to customize treatments for best results for each patient rather than universally perform one particular method of care.

A typical chiropractic visit to Montgomery Chiropractic & Wellness Springs (MCWS) combines Myofacial Trigger Point Therapy (MTPT) with full-body chiropractic care and rehabilitation. As a result, MCWS is extremely effective and efficient when treating myofacial and musculoskeletal injuries. This enables our patients' faster recovery and long-term health benefits.

Chiropractic, often times combined with Trigger Point Therapy‚ can effectively treat many physical discomforts and syndromes, including:

MASSAGE THERAPY

MCWS is also pleased to announce that we offer Massage Therapy available for individual purchase or in the form of gift certificates for others. Massage Therapy is proven safe and effective in the treatment of several conditions. Massage provides relief to people of all ages—from infants to seniors—and from all walks of life—from the weekend or competitive athlete to the home gardener or overstressed, overworked executive.

Massage Therapy addresses a variety of health conditions, the most prevalent being stress-related tension, which, experts believe, accounts for 80%-90% of disease. Massage has been proven beneficial in treating cancer-related fatigue, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, low-back pain, immunity suppression, spinal cord injury, autism, post-operative surgery, age-related disorders, infertility, eating disorders, smoking cessation, and depression, to name just a few.

Bodywork offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Massage has many physiological effects, such as:

  • Increasing circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs
  • Stimulating the lymph system, the body’s natural defense, against toxic invaders (for example, in breast cancer patients, massage has been shown to increase the cells that fight cancer)
  • Relaxing and softening injured and overused muscles
  • Reducing spasms and cramping
  • Increasing joint flexibility
  • Reducing recovery time for strenuous workouts and eliminating subsequent pains of the athlete at any level
  • Releasing endorphins, the body’s natural painkiller (for this reason, massage is being incorporated into treatment for chronic illness, injury, and recovery from surgery, to control and relieve pain)
  • Reducing post-surgery adhesions, edema, and realigning scar tissue after healing has occurred
  • Improving range of motion and decreasing discomfort for patients with low-back pain
  • Relieving pain for migraine sufferers and decreasing the need for medication
  • Providing exercise and stretching for atrophied muscles and reducing shortening of the muscles for those with restricted range of motion
  • Contributing to shorter labor and reduced tearing for expectant mothers, as well as lessening the need for medication, minimizing depression and anxiety, and shortening hospital stays

Myofacial Trigger Point Therapy (MTPT)

Myofacial ("myo" is from the Latin term for muscle) Therapy is a specialized form of muscle massage and stretching that uses deep manual pressure on specific spots on the body to release trigger points. Knots of tension, also known as trigger points, usually occur within a taut band of skeletal muscle or in the muscle's fascia (connective tissue encasing the muscle). Because these points are painful upon compression, they can "trigger," or cause, pain in other parts of the body.

Rehabilitation

Weight training, exercise, and stretching techniques related to chiropractic and therapeutic modalities help support an active and healthy lifestyle.

Injury and trauma result from accidents, surgery, postural problems, repetitive strain, and any other physically compromising situations. In order to get the most effective and efficient results for each patient, a custom tailored routine, incorporating in their normal everyday lifestyle is designed based on the needs of the patient. This optimizes the speed of rehabilitation and encourages a healthy lifestyle.

In order to achieve a desired result, the body needs to perform activities that it is not used to performing, or not strong enough to perform. By targeting the weak areas, by both fitness and daily activity, the body will respond most rapidly and with the best results.

At MCWS, we specialize in helping patients recover from injury while continuing to progress in other aspects of fitness to achieve their goals. The benefits of this treatment method are two-fold. One, it makes the therapy more effective, and two; it requires less treatment and promotes quicker healing. This is extremely important when a person wants to live an active life style with no limitations.
